Hello everybody!

 

Let’s have a look at the following term:

 

red tape

 

Definition:

 

complicated and often time-consuming tasks that a government or organisation requires you to do in order to get or do something

 

Also known as: bureaucracy

 

Examples:

 

I can’t believe there is so much red tape involved in such a simple request.

All of this red tape makes it very difficult to get things done on time.

We had to go through so much red tape when we were planning our new house.

 

I hope your day doesn’t involve too much red tape!

Hello everybody!

Let’s have a look at the following word:

 

exceed (verb) [ik-seed]

 

Definition: to be better than (something)

 

Examples:

 

We often exceed our customers' expectations by offering them a very high level of service.
He is hoping to exceed last year’s sales.
They exceeded everyone’s expectations by qualifying for the final.

 

Have you ever exceeded a client’s or even your own expectations? I bet it felt good!

Hello everybody!


Let’s have a look at the following word:

 

attitude (noun) {at i chood}


Definition: the way that you think and feel about somebody/something; a feeling or way of thinking that affects a person's behaviour


Often followed by “to” or “towards”

 

Deutsch: Einstellung

 

Examples:


Employees with a positive attitude normally have better chances of getting promoted.

You have to have the right attitude if you want to be successful.
His attitude to work is very different to mine.

Number 69: When you are 100% sure

Hello everyone!

In this post, I’d like to share some phrases that we use when we are 100% sure about something:

I’m absolutely certain (that) we launched the FST2000 in June 1998.

We have no doubt at all (that) she will be the next CEO.

I’m absolutely positive (that) sales will improve.

The word “that” is optional in the sentences above.
